Python Developer - 51236

Pay Range - $40 - $45/hr

We have an immediate long-term opportunity with one of our prime clients for a position of Python Developer to work in Minneapolis, MN or Herndon, VA on a Hybrid basis.

Overview

• This individual will be working between two teams that have historically been Java-based. Lately, Python work has been popping up between both teams. Right now, they have a seasoned developer helping out between both teams so they would like to bring someone in asap. Bala's team has the most immediate need.

Team 1

• Online Learning Management Application: this is coursework filtered through canvas. This involved various integrations through PeopleSoft (and apps like that) which calls for a high level of data flow. The developers need assistance with this.
• Facility Facing Application: An application that helps with managing multiple businesses - and in this case, multiple universities. This individual will also support this app which includes keeping up with incoming data from various sources.
• Team consists of multiple BA's, Project Manager, Java Developers, and an Offshore team.
• Will be about 70% of the time.

Team 2

• Course tool suit content management.
• Built a New Application on AWS last year that captures data for grading. Possibly moving which could require integration to build out connections and manipulate data.
• Team consists of 4 developers, offshore QA, BA, & Scrum Master.

Must-Haves (Concepts & Tools)

• Python (Team is using a mix of 3.6 and 3.1). Python is the number 1 requirement.
• TDD
• Basic knowledge of React or Vue must have React or Vue experience, the more experience the better.
• Java must have an intermediate/basic understanding/exposure to Java in previous projects. Java work for this role will be very minimal. Maybe 3-5% of the role will be Java.
• Postgres and/or Oracle
• If they have SQL that is ok but they need to have Postgres and/or Oracle with it.
• Should have experience supporting multiple teams or projects.
• Soft skills: Must be driven, a team player, ability to speak to skills and depth of tools/technology, a utility player. Must be looking for a long-term role/want to convert.
